Milly Turley

My journey to become who I am now all started in June 2018 when I decided enough was enough. I was never particularly unhappy with myself but I didn't look in the mirror and think "wow I look amazing". I also knew sitting down all day and doing absolutely no exercise was not good for my health. I started following girls fitness accounts on Instagram wondering how they where so motivated and how I could become one of them. I also went out and bought workout clothes and joined the gym my mum goes to. Since starting there, I told myself I would make time for it and I would go a minimum of 5 days a week. At first I was sore and tired, and truth be told I was disappointed with the lack of results. This is when I realised that changes don't happen overnight.

After a few months of training 6 days per week it just became habit. I started to notice I felt happier and I was naturally eating a little healthier, this was enough to keep me going. A year had past and I could now do pushups on my toes and I did my first pull-up! That was the most amazing feeling in the world! I Used to come home from the gym and tense in the mirror looking at my biceps thinking how amazing they where ( of course I look back at it now and realise they were tiny ) but hey, little progress is still progress. I learnt so much in 18 months of working out, speaking to other people, googling everything fitness related and  speaking to the coaches in my gym - but I decided I wanted to learn even more so I went and studied my certificate 3+4 in fitness. I went on to get a job at the very gym my whole passion for fitness began and I still work there now helping people at all stages of their journey.  And here I am now writing posts and inspiring other people that they can do what I have done and make a change in their life.

Planning and organising is the best way to succeed.


It's important to stop focusing on the progress you see in the mirror and instead focus on your progress and performance in the gym. Work on getting that extra rep in or running that extra KM and let the progress take place.


No one should exercise because they hate their body, they should do it because they love their body and want to take good care of it. Looking back at old pictures of myself from 3 years ago is the most rewarding thing. What is even more rewarding is the feeling of  becoming stronger, fitter, faster + healthier.  The physical changes you see in your body are almost just a bonus.


I want girls to feel confident and happy in their own skin. I want girls to look after their health and more importantly, I want girls to realise just how amazing having an active lifestyle is.


It changed me as a person, it became my life. No one should be unhappy with themselves and lack self confidence, and if they do, then why not make a change?


It's time to stop saying tomorrow, or next month, or Monday because Monday will never come START NOW!
